Edison Plaza

The building opened in 1982 as the headquarters for Gulf States Utilities, a major energy company. It later transitioned to a multi-tenant office space, becoming a key commercial property in the downtown area.

The building carries the name of Thomas Edison and reflects the area's connection to energy innovation and industrial development. This naming choice connects the site to the broader story of technological progress in the region.

Capital One acquired the building's signage rights in 2015, making its corporate logo visible from many points across the downtown area. This partnership has made the tower one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city's skyline.
