Construction of the Pascagoula River High Rise Bridge concluded in June 2003, replacing an older four-lane drawbridge to modernize transportation infrastructure in Mississippi.
The bridge opening ceremony included Senator Trent Lott and Highway Commissioner Wayne Brown taking the inaugural ride across the structure.
The bridge measures 249.9 feet in length and carries U.S. Route 90 traffic while allowing continuous maritime passage underneath without interrupting vehicle flow.
