Ciudad de la Costa

Ciudad de la Costa is a large city in Canelones Department that extends eastward from Montevideo along the Atlantic coast. The city combines residential neighborhoods with beach areas and follows a linear structure along the waterfront.

The city developed during the 20th century as a residential area for the region's growing population. Its expansion was tied to Montevideo's growth and the increasing settlement of the coastal zone.
