The Estadio Único de Villa Mercedes is a modern multipurpose stadium with a single-tier grandstand and external bridges connecting to a circular walkway that runs around the entire perimeter. The facility holds around 28,000 spectators and includes dedicated entrances equipped with elevators for visitors with disabilities, media personnel, and VIP guests.

The stadium opened on July 8, 2017, with a match between teams led by former soccer stars. This inaugural event marked an important milestone for the city and its sports infrastructure.

The stadium's name comes from its role as the city's multipurpose venue, hosting both football and large concerts. Its first musical event was a September 2, 2017 concert by Colombian singer Maluma, followed by La Renga in 2018 and Tini Stoessel, Babasónicos and María Becerra in later years. One end stand holds a fixed stage for mass concerts.

Access to the facility is well organized, with separate entrances and exits for different visitor groups and parking available around the grounds. Arriving early helps you explore the circulation routes and different areas without rushing.

The stadium occupies 20 of the 66 hectares of Parque La Pedrera, a park built under San Luis governor Alberto Rodríguez Saá; the same park also holds the Carlos Bassi autodrome. Construction was shared by local firms Lumma, Rovella-Carranza, Green SA and Alquimaq, at a total cost of AR$1,571,201,563.
