H.S. Macdonald designed this headquarters for the Queensland Brewery Company, which operated between 1940 and 1942 as a replacement for their Queen Street facility.
The structure incorporates Art Deco elements with Functionalist movement principles, marking a significant shift in Queensland's architectural development during the 1940s.
The ground and first floors contained administrative offices, while the top floor housed cellars and facilities for handling wine and spirits.
The main entry features an asymmetrical three-story space with decorative elements that have remained largely unchanged since its construction.
