Cayo Los Ensenachos, Caribbean island in Villa Clara province, Cuba
Cayo Los Ensenachos is a Caribbean island in Villa Clara province featuring two main beaches named El Megano and Los Ensenachos. Each beach stretches roughly one kilometer with shallow water in light blue shades.
The island remained largely undeveloped until 2005 and could only be reached via a sandy path from the mainland. Modern infrastructure then transformed its accessibility and purpose.
The island follows a one-resort-per-island model, with accommodation spread across three distinct areas of the Iberostar Selection property. The layout respects the natural surroundings and keeps development limited to specific zones.
The island can be reached via a 48-kilometer causeway called El Pedraplen from Caibarien or through flights to Santa Clara and Cayo Las Brujas airports. The journey takes several hours depending on your route choice.
The island is part of the UNESCO Buenavista Biosphere Reserve and protects native plants and animals in their natural habitat. This designation makes it a rare Caribbean refuge where ecosystems remain intact.
