Miccosukee Resort and Gaming, Florida resort and casino
Miccosukee Resort and Gaming is a nine-story hotel and casino in Miami with more than 250 rooms and over 50 suites for guests. The building houses slot machines, card tables hosting poker tournaments, four restaurants, and banquet facilities for events.
The resort opened in 1999 and is operated by the Miccosukee tribal nation with around 400 members. Its creation allowed the tribe to share their culture with visitors while creating economic opportunities for the community.
The resort carries the name of the Miccosukee, a Native American tribe whose culture appears in artworks and handcrafted items throughout the building. Visitors can explore locally made pieces and learn about the traditions of the people who operate the facility.
The resort sits on the western edge of Miami near the Everglades and is easy to reach by car or taxi. The facility offers wheelchair access and friendly staff ready to help guests throughout the building.
A distinctive white statue of a young Miccosukee boy stands outside the main entrance as a greeting to arriving visitors. The statue serves as a local landmark that symbolizes the facility's connection to the tribal community.
