Estadio Cibao, estadio de béisbol en Santiago, República Dominicana
Estadio Cibao is a large sports facility in Santiago de los Caballeros primarily used for baseball games and home to the Águilas Cibaeñas team. The oval-shaped field has foul poles at approximately 335 feet (102 meters), side fields at about 365 feet (111 meters), and center field at roughly 385 feet (117 meters).
The stadium was designed and opened in 1958 by engineer Bienvenido Martínez Brea, becoming a major baseball venue for the region. It underwent major renovation in 2007 to host the Caribbean Series in 2008, with new facilities and improved seating throughout.
The Águilas Cibaeñas are the heart of this stadium and the community. Fans wear their team colors proudly and create an energetic environment during games with chants and collective cheering.
Located on Av. Imbert in Santiago, the stadium is easily accessible by car or bus, and visitors should arrive early to secure good seating. Snack vendors and souvenir shops surround the stadium, with clear signage marking the entrances.
The stadium earned the nickname 'El Valle de la Muerte' among fans because visiting teams struggle to win here, reflecting local dominance. A fire in 2014 damaged some VIP sections, yet the facility remained operational for the community.
