Hume Hall, Student residence hall at University of Florida, Gainesville, United States
Hume Hall is a residential building at the University of Florida containing space for more than 600 students across two separate wings. The facility offers private bathrooms in the rooms and includes common areas with study spaces, laundry rooms, and vending machines throughout.
This residence hall opened in 2002 as a replacement for an earlier building that stood on the site from 1958. It was named to honor Harold Hume, a former dean and interim president of the university.
The Hume Area Council represents residents to the Inter-Residence Hall Association, continuing traditions established by the former Students Honors Organization.
The building is conveniently located within the campus and easily accessible from other university facilities. Keep in mind that this is a student residential area, so some spaces may have restricted access during certain hours.
The construction of this modern residential complex required an investment of 18.1 million dollars and was executed by Ponikvar & Associates.
