The Grand Doubletree

The Grand Doubletree is a mixed-use high-rise tower in downtown Miami that houses both hotel accommodations and residential condominiums with views over Biscayne Bay. The lower floors serve as the hotel section, while the upper levels function as residential units.

Atlanta-based architects Toombs, Amisano and Wells designed the building, which opened in 1986 as part of downtown Miami's transformation into a modern mixed-use center. The tower became one of the prominent structures that helped reshape the city's skyline during that decade.

The tower sits within Miami's Arts & Entertainment District, where galleries, performance venues, and creative institutions shape the neighborhood's character. Its location places visitors near the city's main cultural attractions and gathering spaces.

The building connects to Omni International Mall via a skywalk, and the Sea Isle Marina provides direct access to Biscayne Bay for water activities. These connections make it easy for visitors to explore nearby shopping and enjoy waterfront experiences without leaving the immediate area.

The building pioneered a compact mixed-use model by stacking hotel operations on lower floors with permanent residential living directly above in the same structure. This vertical arrangement of different use types under one roof was innovative for downtown Miami development at the time.
