Hypoluxo Scrub Natural Area is a protected habitat spanning roughly 97 acres with sandy soils and native plants such as ericaceous shrubs, pines, and seasonal wildflowers. The site features multiple hiking trails, a nature path, and a multilevel observation tower for exploring the landscape.
The area takes its name from the Seminole word for Lake Worth, which means water surrounding the land. The property was later established as a protected area to preserve the delicate habitats found throughout South Florida.
