St. Lucie County

St. Lucie County is an administrative area in southeastern Florida with a varied landscape. It spans from Atlantic coastline to inland regions with agricultural land and developed communities.

The county was established in 1905 from the southern portion of Brevard County. Its name comes from Saint Lucy of Syracuse, an early Christian martyr from Sicily.

The Navy UDT-SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce displays military equipment and photographs documenting Naval Special Warfare history. The collection shows how these specialized forces evolved and trained over many decades.

Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike offer direct connections through the county and to other parts of the state. These main highways make travel easy for visitors exploring the region.

Sunken ships from the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet rest in the waters off the coast. These wrecks inspired the region's nickname as the Treasure Coast.
