Uvas Canyon County Park, County park in Santa Clara County, California, US
Uvas Canyon is a protected landscape covering about 1,100 acres of mountainous terrain where several small waterfalls cascade down rocky slopes. These falls feed into tributaries that eventually join Uvas Creek.
The land was originally inhabited by the Mutsun Ohlone people before the county began acquiring property in 1961. This purchase initiated the creation of the park as we know it today.
The name comes from the Spanish word for grapes, honoring the wild grape vines that once grew naturally throughout this canyon. This origin still shapes how locals think about the place today.
The park has multiple trails ranging from short walks to longer hikes for different fitness levels. You will also find picnic areas and camping facilities throughout the grounds.
The five named waterfalls here flow year-round rather than disappearing with the seasons. This consistency makes them a reliable sight for visitors regardless of when they visit.
