Cupid's Span, Outdoor sculpture at Rincon Park Embarcadero, US.
The 60-foot steel and fiberglass sculpture depicts an oversized bow and arrow partially embedded in the ground near San Francisco Bay.
Gap founders Donald and Doris Fisher commissioned artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen to create this monumental piece, installed in 2002.
The sculpture design incorporates elements of San Francisco's identity, with the bow's curve mirroring the Bay Bridge's suspension cables.
Visitors can view the sculpture while walking along the Embarcadero waterfront path between the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge.
The inverted position of the arrow, pointing into the ground, represents a deliberate modification from the original upward-facing design concept.
