Golden 1 Center, Indoor arena in downtown Sacramento, United States
Golden 1 Center is a multipurpose arena in downtown Sacramento, California. The facility holds up to 19,000 spectators for concerts and includes 34 luxury suites along with 48 loft-style suites.
Sacramento City Council approved public financing in May 2014, after which construction started in October of that year. The arena opened in September 2016 following nearly two years of building work.
The building functions as the home court for the Sacramento Kings and welcomes basketball fans throughout the season. On concert nights and during wrestling events, the interior transforms into a multipurpose hall with flexible seating arrangements.
The arena sits within walking distance of five light rail stations, making car-free travel easy. Several parking garages are located within half a mile (800 meters) for visitors arriving by car.
A videoboard measuring 84 feet (26 meters) wide and covering about 6,100 square feet (560 square meters) displays images in 4K resolution above the playing floor. The technology allows sharp close-ups and replays during game breaks.
