The Towers on Capitol Mall were designed as twin 53-story buildings reaching 615 feet in height, positioned near the Tower Bridge entrance to Sacramento.
Construction began in 2006 but halted due to financial difficulties, with CalPERS and Deutsche Bank withdrawing support after liens reached 7.3 million dollars.
The development included plans for 804 condominiums, a 200-room InterContinental Hotel, and retail spaces featuring international luxury brands.
First American Title Company initiated refunds of earnest deposits to buyers who invested in the project since 2006.
The foundation piles installed in 2006 remain at the site, ready for potential future construction projects at 301 Capitol Mall.
