Weinstock's, Department store chain in Sacramento, California, US.
Weinstock's was a multi-floor department store in downtown Sacramento that carried fashion, home goods, and specialty departments throughout its building. The retailer later expanded to suburban locations including Country Club Plaza and Sunrise Mall before ceasing operations.
The store was founded in 1874 by David Lubin and Harris Weinstock as a small dry goods shop and grew into a major retailer across California. After more than a century of operation, the business merged with The Emporium in 1991.
The store shaped shopping habits in Sacramento by offering fixed pricing, seasonal window displays, and a children's milk bar that drew families to visit regularly.
The store was primarily located downtown but later had suburban branches as well. Visitors could explore multiple floors with different shopping sections spread throughout the building.
Co-founder David Lubin was also an agricultural reformer who established the International Institute of Agriculture, which eventually became part of the United Nations. His work extended far beyond the retail business he helped build.
