Ruhstaller Building
Ruhstaller Building, Historic commercial building in Downtown Sacramento, United States
The Ruhstaller Building combines elements of Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival designs across its four floors and 20,000 square feet structure.
Frank Ruhstaller constructed this building in 1898 to serve as the headquarters for both The Ruhstaller Brewery and Buffalo Brewery operations.
The structure represents the industrial development of Sacramento during the late 19th century, particularly in relation to the brewing industry.
The building underwent extensive renovation in 2004, focusing on modernizing the third and fourth floors while maintaining historical characteristics.
The building featured an early cooling system that utilized water pumped directly from the Sacramento River to maintain comfortable temperatures inside.
