Elks Tower, Historic event center in downtown Sacramento, United States
The Elks Tower is a fourteen-story building on 11th Street showcasing Italian Renaissance architecture with soaring ceilings, chandeliers, and natural wood flooring throughout. Inside, a grand ballroom provides space for events and features mezzanine-level balconies with elevator access.
The building was designed by architect Leonard F. Starks in 1926 and quickly became one of Sacramento's most notable structures of that era. Its height and prominence made it an architectural symbol of the city and reflected the importance of the Elks organization in local society.
The building served as a gathering place for the Elks Lodge No. 6, a social organization that met here for events and communal activities. The rooms still reflect this social purpose, with spaces designed to encourage gathering and conversation.
The building has modern elevators and is accessible for people with disabilities, making it easy to reach all areas. Visitors can move through the spaces at their own pace and explore the different rooms and facilities throughout the structure.
Inside the tower sits a specialized whiskey collection featuring hundreds of different varieties from around the globe. This curated selection offers an unexpected glimpse into spirits culture and remains a hidden discovery for most visitors.
