California State Military Museum

The California State Military Museum preserves objects and records from military campaigns and conflicts involving people from the state. The collection contains uniforms, weapons, documents, and photographs showing how residents participated in armed conflicts across different time periods.

California lawmakers established this institution in 1981 to serve as the official keeper of the state's military past. Since its creation, it has grown to be the main archive for stories and objects from various armed conflicts involving Californians.
