Cascade Theatre is an Art Deco building in downtown Redding featuring a large vertical neon sign on its exterior and a detailed frieze depicting California industries around the upper section of the facade. The structure seats approximately 997 guests and combines theatre and retail spaces, with shops occupying the ground floor.

History

The building was constructed in 1935 for the Naify family's Golden State Theaters chain and became the first air-conditioned public building in northern California. This combination of modern technological comfort and entertainment made it a landmark during the region's growth period.
