Ona Beach, Beach in Lincoln County, Oregon, US
Ona Beach is a sandy Pacific coast beach that meets the Beaver Creek estuary through Brian Booth State Park. The area includes five miles of walking trails and open marsh where wetlands transition into the shore.
The park land was acquired between 1938 and 1968, with Lincoln County donating ten acres in 1963. The area received its current name in 2013.
The name comes from a Chinook word for razor clams, honoring the indigenous peoples who fished these waters long ago. This connection to the past shapes how locals understand their coastal home.
The beach is open year-round and good for whale watching and hiking. Bring layers since coastal weather changes quickly throughout the day.
The neighboring Beaver Creek wetlands can be paddled for three kilometers, revealing different habitats most beach visitors never see. This quiet route offers a different view of the coast compared to the main shore.
