South Beach State Park

South Beach State Park is a 498-acre facility along the Pacific Ocean with sandy beaches, coastal forests, and wetland areas. The park contains diverse habitats where plants and animals live in the coastal environment.

The park was created by combining two separate coastal areas over several decades starting in the 1930s. This consolidation brought together different land parcels to form one continuous protected space.

Visitors can discover coastal ecosystems through guided nature walks and educational programs offered regularly throughout the year. These learning experiences help people understand how plants and animals adapt to ocean and beach environments.

The park provides over 200 campsites with electrical hookups, tent sites, and cabin-style yurts for overnight stays. Multiple trails allow visitors to hike, bike, or ride horses along the ocean shoreline.

A paved path leads to an 18-hole disc golf course near the camping area where visitors can borrow discs at no cost. This recreational activity offers an unusual way to explore the park grounds.
