Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint, State park viewpoint near Astoria, United States
Bradley State Scenic Viewpoint is a roadside park along the Columbia River in northwestern Oregon featuring Douglas fir forests and designated viewing areas. The site includes picnic tables, restrooms, and drinking fountains set up for visitors traveling the highway corridor.
Fred W. Bradley donated the land to Clatsop County in 1921, and it was transferred to the Oregon Highway Division in March 1922. This early gift enabled development of the site as a public stop along an important highway corridor.
The park serves as a connection point between Oregon's natural heritage and modern recreation needs through its preserved forest landscapes.
The viewpoint sits directly on US Route 30 between Portland and Astoria, making it convenient for passing travelers to stop briefly. The site is designed for quick visits while driving the highway, with parking and facilities positioned for easy access and turnaround.
From this viewpoint, visitors can see Puget Island and Wauna across the Columbia River with Washington state clearly visible on the far shore. This border location offers glimpses of two states from a single roadside stop.
