Hoh Campground, Camping site in Olympic National Park, Washington, United States.
Hoh Campground consists of 78 individual campsites spread throughout an old forest along the banks of the Hoh River in Olympic National Park. The sites sit among dense tree cover with moss-covered ground and towering conifers.
The campground was established in 1938 within Olympic National Park and has provided visitors direct access to one of North America's largest temperate rainforests. The park itself was created to protect this forest type from commercial logging.
Rangers lead educational programs during summer months that teach visitors about local ecosystems and forest habitats around this place. These programs help people connect with the natural environment that surrounds them.
Reservations are required from June through September, and vehicles up to 35 feet (11 meters) in length can be accommodated. It is wise to arrive early during these months, as sites fill up quickly.
The region receives about 140 inches (3.6 meters) of rain annually, which supports lush vegetation with moss-covered trees. These wet conditions create a forest landscape that feels notably different from drier camping areas.
