TPC at Summerlin, Professional golf course in Summerlin, Las Vegas, US.
TPC at Summerlin is a championship golf course on the west side of Las Vegas, built into a desert setting with natural canyons, dry washes, and water features woven into the layout. The course was designed by Bobby Weed with professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller serving as a playing consultant.
The course opened in the early 1990s and was the first golf facility in Nevada to earn Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary certification, which recognized its efforts to protect wildlife habitat in the desert. That status helped set a standard for how golf courses in arid regions could be managed responsibly.
The course hosts the Shriners Children's Open each year, a PGA Tour event that brings professional players and spectators to Las Vegas in the fall. During tournament week, the grounds open to the public and fans can follow players closely along the fairways.
Playing between October and April tends to be more comfortable, as desert heat in summer can be intense at midday. Proper golf attire is required on the course, so checking the dress code before arriving is a good idea.
Tiger Woods won his first professional tournament here in 1996, just weeks after turning pro, making this the site of the opening chapter of his career on tour. That win came before he had yet to establish the dominance he would later become known for.
