Wanbu Huayanjing Pagoda
Wanbu Huayanjing Pagoda, Buddhist pagoda in Saihan District, Hohhot, China
The white octagonal structure rises 55.5 meters high with seven floors, featuring spiral stairs and half-round arches on each level.
The pagoda dates from the Liao Dynasty between 1055 and 1110, initially constructed to preserve Buddhist scriptures in the former city of Fengzhou.
The first and second floors display sculptures of Heavenly Kings and Bodhisattvas, representing traditional Buddhist art from the Liao Dynasty period.
Visitors can access the pagoda by taking Bus Number 12 from Hohhot city center, with opening hours from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
The walls contain over 200 inscriptions in multiple languages, including Mongolian, Tibetan, Persian, and ancient Syrian, dating back to 1172.
