Suiyuan Governor

Suiyuan Governor is an administrative museum in Xincheng District that displays how the region was governed in earlier times. The site contains traditional Qing Dynasty buildings arranged in multiple courtyards with halls and offices that show how officials conducted their work.

The site was founded in 1739 as an administrative center under imperial rule in the region. It served an important role in managing relations between Chinese and Mongolian populations and carried out imperial policies.

The building displays administrative practices through Qing Dynasty artifacts and documents housed in its rooms. Visitors can see how local officials worked and made decisions within these spaces.

The museum provides information panels and guided tours explaining how the region was administered and governed in the past. Visitors should allow time to walk through the different buildings and courtyards at a leisurely pace.

During the 1936 military campaign, the site served as a command center for troops defending the region against external threats. This turning point in local history is documented in the exhibitions and reveals a more dramatic chapter than its everyday administrative purpose.
