Banpo Museum

Banpo Museum is an archaeological museum in Xi'an built on a Neolithic settlement site, displaying over 18,000 artifacts including pottery, tools, and bone remains. The museum combines indoor exhibition halls with outdoor reconstructed dwellings to show how people lived during this ancient period.

This site dates back to 4500 BC and represents one of the earliest matrilineal clan settlements in the Yellow River basin of ancient China. It marks an important moment when communities were establishing stable ways of living in this region.
