Tang Paradise

Tang Paradise, Cultural theme park in Yanta District, China.

Tang Paradise is an urban park covering about 165 acres that spreads around a lake lined with weeping willows and contains numerous buildings and gardens designed in Tang Dynasty style. The grounds feature various sections with pavilions, corridors, and gateways all built according to the traditional architectural patterns of that historical period.

The park arose on the site of the former Furong Garden complex, which was originally established during the Qin Dynasty as part of the royal hunting grounds. The location later became known as Yichun Garden before being redeveloped in modern times as Tang Paradise.

The park was designed following the artistic ideals of the Tang Dynasty, so visitors see traditional gardens, pavilions, and bridges laid out according to historical patterns throughout the grounds. This design reflects how people of that era wanted to harmonize their surroundings with water, plants, and architecture.

Visitors find several restaurants and food stalls throughout the park offering traditional Tang cuisine and various snacks. Wearing comfortable shoes is advisable since the grounds are very large and require considerable walking between different areas.

The park houses one of Asia's largest musical fountain installations, covering about 1000 square meters and synchronized with music and lighting effects. This water feature is a modern element that contrasts sharply with the classical buildings and gardens surrounding it.
