Qujiang Pond Site Park, Historic site park in Qujiang district of Xi'an, China.
Qujiang Pond Site Park is a historic park in Xi'an's Qujiang district featuring multiple water areas and a central lake divided by a small waterfall called Jiangtandieshui. The park spans about 33 hectares and includes various pavilions, including the Qujiang Pavilion, with boat rentals available at Yunge Pavilion and cultural performance spaces like the House in the Woods.
During the Tang Dynasty from 618 to 907, the Qujiang area served as both a royal garden and public recreational space for residents of Chang'an. The site later evolved and was redesigned as a park in modern times to preserve its historical importance.
The House in the Woods hosts traditional Shaanxi opera performances, leather shadow puppet shows, and displays of Fengxiang clay figurines that reflect local artistic traditions. These performances let visitors experience art forms that have been part of the region's cultural life for many generations.
The park is accessible by bus routes 22 and 161 and located about 6 kilometers from Xi'an Bell Tower, making it straightforward to reach. Boats can be rented at Yunge Pavilion, and the park is best explored on foot using the paved pathways that make navigation easy.
The Willow Dam stretches through the park with rows of trees leading to Yuejiang Tower, which overlooks the water areas and provides wide views across the landscape. This natural structure creates a peaceful walking path and connects different sections of the grounds in a flowing way.
