Angel Fire Resort, Winter sports resort in Angel Fire, New Mexico
Angel Fire Resort is a ski area in the Moreno Valley with runs spread across more than 560 acres of terrain for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers. The slopes sit between 8,600 and 10,677 feet in elevation and are served by seven lifts, including two high-speed quads and three double chairs.
The resort was founded in the early decades of winter sports development in the Southwest and began as a regional destination for locals. Over time it expanded and began drawing visitors from across the country seeking skiing and snowboarding in the mountains.
This resort serves as a gathering place where winter sports enthusiasts from the region meet and spend time together on the slopes. The instructor programs help newcomers feel welcome and develop their skills in a social setting.
The area offers full equipment rentals and uses artificial snow production to maintain consistent conditions throughout the season. Plan your visit with flexible timing since high elevation locations can experience rapid weather changes and require appropriate winter clothing.
About 50 acres of slopes are illuminated for night skiing and snowboarding after dark, extending recreational time beyond daylight hours. This evening option allows visitors to spend extra time on the slopes without being limited by sunset.
