Cliffhanger, Steel roller coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, US
Cliffhanger is a steel roller coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park built along the side of Iron Mountain. The red track with blue supports winds through the landscape at about 7,160 feet elevation and features a chain lift hill, a smaller hill, and a spiral turn.
This roller coaster originally operated as Firestorm in Branson, Missouri from 1999 until 2012, when it was relocated to Glenwood Springs. The Italian-made machine was reassembled at its new location and began operating as Cliffhanger in June 2012.
The roller coaster represents Colorado's dedication to mountain recreation, combining mechanical engineering with natural geography for entertainment purposes.
Riders must be at least 56 inches tall to ride alone or 48 inches with supervision. A liability waiver is required before boarding and can be completed ahead of your visit to save time.
The track runs along the edge of Iron Mountain, giving riders views of Glenwood Canyon and the Colorado River far below. This mountain-side position creates a distinctive riding experience that sets it apart from typical coasters in flat settings.
