The Georgetown Loop Railroad is a heritage railway in Clear Creek County that connects two former mining towns. The route travels through narrow valleys and crosses impressive trestles that show the engineering skill of the 1800s.

The line opened in 1884 to carry minerals from the mountains and link growing mining towns. It played a key role in the region's development until mining declined significantly in the 1950s.

The best way to explore is by taking a train ride offered from April through November that lasts about two hours. The route is family-friendly and offers various viewing points from the cars.

The highest point on the route reaches over 8,000 feet, and on clear days passengers can see snowcapped peaks and deep canyons. This elevation offers views rarely experienced from other train rides in the region.
