Mount Temple, Mountain summit in Banff National Park, Canada
Mount Temple rises to 3,547 meters in elevation, making it the highest peak in the Lake Louise area of the Canadian Rockies.
The first recorded ascent of Mount Temple occurred in 1894 by Walter D. Wilcox, Samuel E. S. Allen, and Lewis Frissell, marking a milestone in Canadian mountaineering.
The mountain received its name from George Mercer Dawson in 1884 to commemorate Sir Richard Temple's visit to the Canadian Rockies that year.
Parks Canada requires groups of minimum four individuals for trails in the Moraine Lake area to reduce potential conflicts with local wildlife.
The temperature variations between Moraine Lake base and the summit can exceed 20 degrees Celsius, requiring climbers to prepare for multiple weather conditions.
