Two Lakes Provincial Park, Provincial park in Greenview No. 16, Canada.
Two Lakes Provincial Park is a protected area in the Rocky Mountain foothills that encompasses two mountain lakes ringed by forested terrain and rolling hills. The landscape sits at roughly 1,110 meters in elevation and offers different environments for visitors to explore.
The park was established as a protected area to preserve natural habitats for elk, bears, and aquatic species found in the region. This designation came through Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation to safeguard the wilderness.
Three designated campgrounds named Gunderson Trail, Moberly Trail, and Pine Hollow provide opportunities for outdoor recreation in the northwestern Alberta wilderness.
Getting to the park means driving roughly 142 kilometers south of Grande Prairie, with the last 84 kilometers on gravel roads that require four-wheel drive vehicles. Visitors should expect longer travel times and challenging road conditions, especially during wetter seasons.
The south lake allows motorized boats while the north lake restricts water activities to non-powered vessels. This split approach creates two distinct experiences within the same park, giving visitors options based on how they want to spend time on the water.
