Oklahoma Odd Fellows Home at Checotah
Oklahoma Odd Fellows Home at Checotah, Fraternal hall and historic site in Checotah, United States.
The Oklahoma Odd Fellows Home at Checotah is a complex with multiple buildings in different architectural styles spread across its grounds. The structures display Romanesque Revival features alongside Bungalow design elements and occupy a substantial property on North Avenue.
The complex was established in 1902 after William Gentry donated land for this purpose. Over the following decades, it underwent several expansions that reflected its growing importance as a center for the fraternal order.
This place has long served as a meeting ground where members gather for social connections and community service projects. The spaces reflect the spirit of mutual aid that defines the fraternal organization.
The grounds are walkable and the various buildings are connected by several pathways. Visitors should be aware this is an active meeting place, so spaces may not always be accessible when events or gatherings are taking place.
Two different architects shaped the complex in separate decades, each bringing their own design approach to the property. This resulted in an interesting mixture of styles from different eras within a single site.
