IZD Tower, Office tower in Donaustadt, Austria
The IZD Tower is a 41-story office building in Vienna that rises 140 meters high. Its design combines a glass-enclosed central atrium with a lower base building, creating two distinct sections connected by the tower's main structure.
Construction began in November 1998 and finished in August 2001. The completed building marked a turning point in Vienna's commercial district expansion.
The building serves as headquarters for multiple international organizations, including the US Mission to International Organizations and diplomatic missions.
The building has 14 elevators distributed throughout to help people move between floors efficiently. An underground parking garage with four levels offers space for approximately 450 vehicles.
The tower features a hammerhead-shaped projection that extends more than 12 meters from the facade at the level of the 38th floor. This unusual architectural feature makes the building instantly recognizable when viewing Vienna's skyline.
