Andromeda Tower, Office skyscraper in Kaisermühlen, Austria
Andromeda Tower is an office building in Kaisermühlen that houses a mix of retail, services, and dining in its lower levels across 29 floors. The upper levels are dedicated entirely to office spaces serving both diplomatic missions and corporate tenants.
Built between 1996 and 1998, the Andromeda Tower was the first building in Donau City, a newly developing district in Vienna's 22nd municipal district. Its construction marked the start of modern urban development in the area.
The tower houses diplomatic missions, including Japan's and Austria's permanent representatives to international organizations, alongside various company offices. This mix makes it a place where international affairs and business activities come together.
The lower levels are easily accessible and offer shopping, dining, and various services for visitors and office workers. The upper office areas are typically only reachable for tenants and their authorized guests.
The name comes from Greek mythology of the princess Andromeda, showing how the district's architecture honors classical stories. After completion, the building was acquired by Karl Wlaschek, founder of the Billa supermarket chain.
