Hajigabul District, Administrative district in eastern Azerbaijan.
Hajigabul District is an administrative area in eastern Azerbaijan with a flat terrain and a total area of about 1,640 square kilometers. The region is thinly populated with several small settlements spread throughout its expanse.
The district was founded in 1939 during the Soviet period and experienced various administrative changes over the decades. Following Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, the area underwent further organizational adjustments.
The district includes 31 populated areas divided into 15 administrative units, featuring 55 cultural centers that support local traditions and community activities.
The Kars-Tbilisi-Baku railway line crosses the district, connecting it to neighboring regions for both cargo and passenger movement. Road access is available through regional highways, though travel to nearby cities can take several hours depending on your starting point.
An industrial park in the region operates a vehicle manufacturing facility that stands out as one of the few major industrial projects in the district. This factory draws workers from surrounding settlements and represents a significant economic activity in an otherwise rural area.
