Noah’s Mausoleum

The octagonal structure features a crypt, an above-ground mausoleum section, and a conical cover, situated between the Castle Museum Complex and Heydar Mosque.

The original structure from the 8th century underwent multiple transformations, with the current building completed in 2006 following extensive archaeological research and excavations.

Local traditions maintain that Prophet Noah spent his final days in Nakhchivan, leading to the establishment of this burial site according to regional beliefs.

Visitors can access both the main chamber and the underground vault through a western entrance, with optimal visiting conditions from April through October.

Archaeological excavations in 2006 revealed decorative elements and foundation structures that confirm the historical layering of different construction periods at this location.
