Gulustan Palace

Gulustan Palace is a large convention center in the capital equipped with multiple conference halls of varying sizes and modern technical facilities. The building accommodates governmental meetings, private business events, and public ceremonies all within its walls.

The building was completed in 1980 following designs by architects Nazim Hacıbəyov and Abbas Alasgarov. Originally designed as a wedding palace, it later became the nation's primary venue for governmental events.

The venue serves as Azerbaijan's primary location for high-level political and diplomatic gatherings. It hosts state receptions and international conferences that represent the nation on the global stage.

The location on elevated ground along Istiglaliyyat Street allows visitors to view the city and Baku Bay through large panoramic windows. Plan to arrive early for events, as the interior is expansive and security procedures can be strict during official occasions.

The building was originally designed as a wedding palace complex during the Soviet era and retained this purpose for many years before becoming a governmental hub. This conversion shows how public buildings in Azerbaijan shifted to new political roles after the Soviet Union ended.
