House of Scientists

The House of Scientists is a large residential building on Neftchiler Avenue featuring limestone facades and symmetric Soviet-era architecture. The structure combines apartments with meeting spaces designed for the scientific community and their families.

The building was designed in 1946 by architects Sadig Dadashov and Mikayil Useynov to house the scientific community following World War II. This construction was part of efforts to rebuild and develop academic infrastructure in Baku.

The building serves as a gathering space where researchers and scientists meet for conferences and intellectual exchanges. These shared spaces encourage interaction among residents and foster collaborative thinking.

The building is located in central Baku and is easily accessible by public transport. Visitors should know that it functions primarily as a residential complex with limited public access, so viewing the exterior architecture is the main way to appreciate the structure.
