Baščaršija Mosque

Baščaršija Mosque is a house of worship in the heart of the old district, featuring a central dome and a stone minaret that rises above the surrounding area. The structure includes an open courtyard with smaller cupolas that frame the entrance.

A manuscript from 1528 mentions the neighborhood around this mosque, suggesting it existed before that date as one of Sarajevo's oldest religious buildings. The structure reflects the early establishment of Islamic faith in the city during the Ottoman period.
