Plovdiv Stadium

Plovdiv Stadium is a multi-purpose sports venue featuring two levels of stands that can hold approximately 55,000 spectators. Its concrete and steel structure spans a large area with a functional layout designed to accommodate various events.

The facility was built in 1950 with an initial capacity of 30,000 and expanded during the 1980s. Financial difficulties prevented completion of further development plans.

The venue hosted major concerts that drew crowds from across the region, shaping the city's entertainment scene. These events made it a significant gathering place for music and public celebration.

The site operates with limited modern infrastructure and is primarily used for training sessions. Visitors should note that the lack of lighting restricts activities to daytime hours.

It stands as Bulgaria's only stadium with double-level spectator stands, a distinctive architectural feature among national sports facilities. This two-tier design was an innovative approach at the time to accommodate larger crowds.
