Blue Lake Provincial Park

Blue Lake Provincial Park consists of rocky terrain with glacially carved hills and a long sandy beach fringing the main lake. The park contains forested areas traversed by trails, campsites with electrical hookups, and several spots for launching boats and fishing.

This site was established as a recreation park in 1960 to provide public access to the lake and surrounding landscape. It was later redesignated to strengthen protection of the natural environment and ecosystems within its boundaries.

Several indigenous communities maintain strong ties to this landscape through traditional hunting, trapping, and gathering practices. You may encounter evidence of these long-standing relationships with the land as you explore the park.

Plan your visit during the warmer months when swimming and water activities are most enjoyable. Access to certain areas of the park may change depending on weather and season, so it helps to check conditions before you go.

A large glacial moraine runs through the park and created the ridges and hills you see across the landscape. This geological feature is one of the most significant formations of its type in the region.
