Brampton Jain Temple, Jain temple in Brampton, Canada

The Bhagwan 1008 Adinatha Swamy Jain Temple is a Jain temple at 7875 Mayfield Road in Brampton, Ontario. It is the first Jain temple in Canada built using traditional Indian architecture. Inside, shrines are dedicated to Rishabhanatha, also called Adinatha, and a Manastambh, or Pride Pillar, stands at the entrance.

Construction of the temple was overseen in 2011 by Bhattarak Charukeerthi of Moodabidri, India, and many devotees brought their own bricks to lay the foundation. The temple celebrated its Pratishta Mahotsav in 2014. In 2015, 2,000 people attended its anniversary celebrations, which featured religious discourses and a visit by MPP Dipika Damerla.

The temple's name honours Rishabhanatha, also called Adinatha, the first Tirthankara, and shrines inside are dedicated to him. The Pratishta Mahotsav, the consecration festival, was held in 2014, and in 2015 about 2,000 people came for anniversary celebrations that included religious discourses. MPP Dipika Damerla attended that anniversary to convey Premier Kathleen Wynne's wishes to the Jain community.

The temple stands at 7875 Mayfield Road in Brampton, Ontario. The Greater Toronto Area holds Canada's largest Jain community, roughly two-thirds of the country's 10,000 Jains, so the temple serves a scattered congregation. Visitors should confirm opening times with the temple before travelling, as access is arranged around worship.

The temple features a Manastambh pride pillar at its entrance, which is a distinctive architectural element found in only a few Jain temples across North America. This type of pillar is uncommon outside of India.
