Yukon Striker, Dive coaster in Vaughan, Canada
Yukon Striker is a dive coaster in Vaughan, Canada, operating since 2019 at Canada's Wonderland amusement park. The steel structure runs over 1105 meters of track and reaches speeds of 130 kilometers per hour (81 miles per hour), with the ride passing through four inversions.
Planning began after the older SkyRider coaster was dismantled in 2014, and foundation work lasted several years. The opening took place in May 2019, bringing a new generation of dive coasters to the park.
The name refers to the Yukon gold rush, and the theme runs through the queue design and the train colors. Visitors notice mining motifs and rough landscape elements that recall the historical claim staking.
The coaster operates three trains at once, each carrying 24 passengers in three rows, with vests as the restraint system. Storage bins before boarding provide space for bags and loose items during the ride.
The drop passes through a tunnel running beneath an artificial lake, so riders see water above them. The height of 75 meters and the vertical drop make this section the tallest of its kind worldwide.
