Kortright Centre for Conservation, Protected area and environmental education facility in Vaughan, Canada.

Kortright Centre for Conservation is a protected area and environmental education facility spanning 325 hectares of woodlands. The grounds feature 16 kilometers of hiking trails through natural forests along with learning facilities and interpretive centers.

Francis Kortright, an engineer and conservationist, founded this environmental education center in 1979. He established it to promote awareness about natural resource protection and sustainable practices in the region.

The center functions as a learning hub where visitors engage with hands-on activities and guided programs focused on environmental protection. These interactive spaces show how people work with nature and practice sustainable resource management.

Access is granted through a membership pass that provides entry to multiple conservation areas across the Greater Toronto region. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the trails vary in difficulty and pass through different forest types.

The facility operates specialized sugar shacks that demonstrate both traditional and modern techniques for maple sap collection and processing. Visitors can observe these methods up close during the season and see the entire process from harvest to finished syrup.
