Flight Deck, Steel roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland, Ontario
Flight Deck is a steel coaster at Canada's Wonderland in Ontario that takes riders through five inversions along its track. The ride reaches speeds of around 50 miles per hour (80 kilometers per hour) and climbs to heights of around 109 feet (33 meters).
The ride opened in 1995 under the name Top Gun and was renamed in 2008 when Cedar Fair acquired the park from Paramount. This name change marked a shift in how the park was operated and managed.
The station building draws from Royal Canadian Air Force hangar design with military objects scattered throughout the structure. These elements create a themed setting that echoes the experience of flight in a military context.
The ride operates with two trains, each holding around twenty passengers, and riders must be between 132 and 198 centimeters tall. Guests should know that loose items are not secure during the ride.
The ride takes passengers through a series of unexpected turns including a sea serpent roll, sidewinder loop, and double inline twist. These specific elements create intense inverted sensations that set this coaster apart from typical loops.
